Apple’s iPhone has received less recognition at this year’s Smartphone Awards, an annual event hosted by tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD). The iPhone 14 Pro Max was awarded “Best Camera System,” but was not included in any other categories. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was named “Best Big Phone,” the ASUS Zenfone 9 won “Best Small Phone,” and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra was chosen as the MVP (Phone of the Year).
Google Pixel 6A was given the Value Award at the Smartphone Awards
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 won “Best Battery,” the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip received the Design Award, and the Google Pixel 6A was given the Value Award. The LG Rollable was named the Bust of the Year. While the iPhone 14 Pro Max was able to claim the award for “Best Camera System,” it was not included in any other categories at this year’s Smartphone Awards.
This is a contrast to last year, when the iPhone was awarded in three categories. Apple’s smartphone lost the spotlight to its competitors. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra, ASUS Zenfone 9, and ASUS ROG Phone 6 receiving recognition for their large screens, long-lasting batteries, and impressive camera systems.
The Google Pixel 6A was also recognized for its affordable price and high-quality camera. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip on the other hand received the Design Award for its foldable design.
It seems that the iPhone can’t to keep up with the expectation in terms of battery life, design, and other key features. It’s worth noting that Apple currently only sells eight different iPhone models, with just five of them being released this year, but there are many Android smartphones competing for the awards.
